Saturday 19th (10am – 4pm) – The Rugby Jamboree is a chance to share your stories, collectors (professional and personal), historians, authors, clubs, promoters, and everyone with an interest in rugby, young and old alike!
This is the first year that we have done anything like this within the Museum and Te Manawa complex and are calling for Expressions of Interest for you to come and take a ‘table’ at our Jamboree to bring along what you have to show/tell/sell/swap or just educate each other. There will be short workshops on the day covering collection care, storage etc. An auction, other activities and a sausage sizzle. Something for all for an exciting day of rugby!
For those who are interested we will also arrange a dinner at a local venue (pay your way) where further networking can be done in an informal environment.
On Sunday morning (20 May 10.00am – 1.00pm) will be given over to a more structured session. What rugby projects are you working on? Are you looking to complete a collection? Digitising a rugby club’s records? Writing a book? Building your personal rugby shrine? We have groups and individuals from across New Zealand doing some amazing and interesting work that have indicated they would like to talk about it. We would like to hear from anyone to present one of these 20 minute sessions. Be in quick, we only have time for nine presentations!
There is no cost to you and entrance will be free. Just let us know if you are interested in being part of the day and how you would like to contribute and we will get back to you with further details. Click the link above and we will do the rest!
