Volunteers Wanted!

Join our friendly team

Do you like meeting new people? Can you offer a warm welcome to local visitors and international tourists? Are you available for 3 hours once or twice a month?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you can volunteer! Get in contact with us by e-mailing info@rugbymuseum.co.nz or calling 06 358 6947 to talk to one of our friendly staff about becoming a volunteer.

In-depth knowledge of rugby is not required.

Why volunteer?

Hosts at the New Zealand Rugby Museum get to meet people from all over the world, and contribute to them having a positive experience during their visit. That might be in sharing rugby stories, highlighting special objects on display, or simply recommending the best place to go for lunch in Palmerston North! No in-depth knowledge of rugby is required for the role, just a friendly and outgoing nature with a willingness to speak to new people.

Our venue is located inside Te Manawa Museums complex and is fully accessible.

Some volunteers chose to also support us with our collection work, taking care of over 45,000 items which relate to the history and heritage of rugby in New Zealand. We carefully manage, catalogue, and preserve these items, and supporting these efforts can be a rewarding challenge for volunteers with some computer skills.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, speak to our friendly team on your next visit, or contact us by e-mailing info@rugbymuseum.co.nz or calling 06 358 6947
