April 5 - 1919 NZ defeat Mother Country
New Zealand continued unbeaten in the Services King’s Cup competition by beating England (aka the Mother Country) 6 – 3 at Inverleith, Edinburgh. After wins over the Royal Air Force, Canadian Expeditionary Force and South African Forces and now England they still had to play the Australian Imperial Forces before the final.

LONDON, April 6. The Rugby football inter-services tournament was continued to-day. New Zealand, 6 points, defeated England, 3, at Inverleith. Twenty thousand spectators were present, including many Dominion soldiers. It was a hard, fast game, especially as regard forward play. Storey and Belliss scored tries in the first half. England scored in the second half. New Zealand is certain to win the unfinished tournament and the King's Cup. Australia, 38 points, beat Canada, 0.
